Relationship/Veteran (if family member): Daughter
Comments: Hi, everyone. My dad passed away in 1985. His name was William H. (Harrison) Webb, from Bowling Green, Ky. His papers say TEC-5. Does anyone out there remember him? He brought back pictures of Dachau when he came home, so I think he was there at the end of the war. I'm gathering together some of Dad's pictures in uniform along with one of his halbert arm patches, and a copy of his discharge papers to frame and display and someday hand down to my son. To my great surprise, I discovered my dad should have received 2 bronze stars, a good conduct medal, a victory medal, and an army of occupation medal after the war. He never got them. Did all of you men get your medals? Any info would be helpful. I'm going to pursue getting Dad's medals to put in with his other things to display. Dad never talked about the war. I love and miss him, and I wish I had told him how proud I was of him-for his honorable service to his country. But I'm only now realizing how much that means to me. But it's not too late to tell you who are still here. Thank you for putting your lives on the line for us. Thank you for your sacrifice. You guys are ALL brave and wonderful. God bless each and every one of you! And thank you for making this Web site possible! It's really a comfort to me. Terry Harshman

Comments: My father, I believe, was with the Anti-Aircraft Artillary and he also talks of liberating Ordruf (which usually brings tears to his eyes). He was wounded on April 7th and rejoined his unit 2 weeks later. I'm hoping someone in your organization might recognize his name. His formal name is Neyron R. Pomeroy, but guys who knew him would have called him "Jack". Dad is in poor health but his mind is sharp. I know it would lift his spirits to have news from you.

Comments: I just finished reading Joe Windham's new book titled "Fragmentation" It is available at Amazon.com.

The book had me remembering my own adventures from Camp Shelby to Linz, it had me walking once again from Saarlautern to the Czech border. Joe had me remembering the good times and the bad times, we had both been thru those times together. Read the book and go back to when we were young and daring, when we were soldiers and won the war. Thanks Joe for a 122 pages of glory.
