I went over with the 65th.Inf.Div.in Jan.10,1945 on the USS Le Jeune we disenbarked on Jan.21,1945.In LeHarve France Stayed with in same unit until it was deactivated after the end of war there.I was then sent to the 9th.Inf.Div.until I went home in June 1956.Referred By: www.65thdiv.com

Weigle, commanded 1st Battalion, 261st Infantry, until being wounded near Eschwege on 4/5/45. Dad died in 1997 at age 80, from complications of Hepatitis C which I suspect go back to blood transfusions during the war. I just stumbled on it while surfing the home page. I was a PFC medic serving the 3rd Plt C Company of the 261st from Shelby until it was demobilized in 1945.
