Comments: Thank you a lot for this very infomative website. I live in Saarlouis, Germany, the city was former known as Saarlautern. After ten years of military service i work as an educator at Saarlouis now. I would like to start a history-project with some children here, telling them about the war in their hometown. For that reason I am looking for any material that could be usefull, reports, fotos. Maybe you can help us by sending me such material via e-mail? Comments: PFC Colling spent almost every day serving military veterans. Whether it was enrolling veterans for VA disabilities, rides and visits to VA Hospital, or Honor Guard at burial. He died on May 17, 2007 of cancer at Kansas Old Soldier's Home Winfield, KS where he continue to ensure that veterans were treated with respect and back massages.

Comments: My father Irving Hershkowitz (also went by Taylor and sometimes Bob) was a proud member of the 65th Div. He never told many stories about his experiences except for getting drunk. He passed away in 1981, but I am trying to find out any information I can. If you knew him, please send me an email, as I would like to find out anything you may know.

Comments: My dad always referred to his division as "The Mighty 65th!" He was very proud of the men he served with and to fight for his country. He passed away in 1980 and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about what sacrifices he and all the men and women of that generation made for this world. Thank you for my freedom! Let's be sure future generations learn the lessons of WWII so we will never live in fear of what evil men can do.

who lives near me in Thousand Oaks, CA. he is 81 and doing OK. I would very much like to connect with any of his comrades in arms with stories about my Dad.

Comments: My Grandfather is very proud of his unit's service in the war. I starting to interview him and collect all memories and notes from all 65th movements from Camp Shelby throughout Europe. His name is William Roth and I feel most fortunate to be able to discuss this part of his life and US history.

Comments: My grandfather turned 90 in December and wants so dearly to find his old unit. He was a member of the 65th Division 259th Infantry Service Company and stationed at Tyler Texas and later at Camp Shelby Mississippi. He always tells about driving "some big wig" around in a Jeep and about guarding german POWs. I would love to be able to put my grandpa in touch with some of the people from his unit.
