Williams from Utica N.Y. and Hartford Ct.) He told me many stories of your division. I also had a surprise at LONG WARF THEATER a few years ago to be sitting listeninbg to a play that talked about the division. I do not know if anyone left will remember my dad, but he went on to be a US Veterans Administration Hospital Chaplain at West Haven, Ct. When he retired he was given rank of a general and was presented with the Civil Service Medal of Honor only the 4th Chaplain in the US History at that time to receive such. He trained in Camp Shelby, Mississippi, and served with the 261st Infantry during operations in Europe from Camp Lucky Strike through the end of the war. He was decorated for valor on 2-3 May 1945, for action during the battle to capture Passau, GE. He passed away in 1983, and I would like to contact any members of the 65th who might have served with him. I am compiling a brief narrative of his military service, and any information you could provide would be very much appreciated.
